This pendant is in the form of a triskelion. This is a symbol that while associated by most with the Celts in fact dates back thousands of years earlier. Records of triskelion like shapes can be seen as far back a neolithic times and the first common use fo the triskellion s we now know it was in fact in ancient greece. Regrdless of of its long history its prominence in celtic art meant that it had to feature in this collection. Not only does it feature in this form it also features in a more tighly coiled form which slightly closer depicts some of the early carvings.
